Changing a workers worktime group
You can change a persons worktime group in two ways in the persons view:
- From the dropdown menu for the person's entire period of employment.
- From the three dots button next to the dropdown menu, timed to a specific date.
So there are differences in the functionalities of the dropdown menu and the three dots button. The dropdown menu is a quick and easy fix - but not always the right one. Behind the three dots button there is an additional function that allows a person to have multiple worktime groups consecutively.
Example
Company Dougs Donut wants to hire H.H. as a permanent employee after he has shown his skills during a temporary contract. H.H. is already in the company's system under the worktime group Temporary Workers and will be transferred to the group Production starting from 30th of June 2024.
- Drop-down menu changes all previous shifts to match the new worktime group. If the change is made this way, the work time history and current balances may not be displayed correctly anymore.
- Three-dot menu is more versatile in terms of functionality. Through it a specific end date can be set for the old worktime group. This way the change can be made without affecting past shifts, and calculations remain accurate. The end date can also be set in advance so there is no need to worry about it on the day of the change.
Remember to save your changes - and then save again in the main view.
